Nothing brings families out and communities together like great music!!!
Here at the Friesian Farm we have been privileged to host Liam Doyle, Elvis Tribute Artist, and the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra for several years running in our laid back beautiful setting. And.... both are on the schedule for the upcoming year! Liam Doyle is pure inspiration. As an Elvis Tribute Artist with Downs he has spent countless months, even years, memorizing lyrics, perfecting dance moves, and polishing his stage charm simply to bring joy to others. Equally amazing is the GR Jazz Orchestra, made up of some of Michigan's finest musicians, heads of many of our college/university music departments. If you missed them in the past years, you won't want that to happen again! Bring your picnic basket, bring your friends and family. Join the jam session, soak in the scenery, and be refreshed!
And look for some of the GR Symphony members to be popping in as well as part of their "strolling concert" series. We are trying to convince them the Friesian horses and our NMS families love classical music, too.
Did you know that 1 in 4 families is impacted by disablility? That's a lot of families in the Grand Rapids area. As the Kent County chapter of NMS we seek to serve families by providing spaces for recreation and education -- unique experiences that give them a chance to reach beyond the limits set by society, to enjoy opportunities that not only affirm them as accepted and accomplished members of our communities, but underscore the invaluable contribution they make to our communities, to each and every life they touch. Come on along!!
